Fans Alt — Child Safety Standards

Last updated: September 8, 2025

Overview

Fans Alt is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE) or any content that sexualizes minors. This page explains our policies, prevention practices, reporting procedures, and how we cooperate with law enforcement and child protection organizations.

Scope

This policy applies to all users, content, and interactions that occur through the Fans Alt mobile app and associated online services, including user-generated content (posts, comments, direct messages, profiles, images, videos) and any third‑party integrations.

Zero Tolerance Policy

  • No CSAM or sexualized content involving minors is permitted.

  • Content that depicts, promotes, or normalizes sexual activity involving minors will be removed and reported.

  • Accounts that create, share, or knowingly host such content will be suspended and permanently banned.

Definitions

  • Child / Minor: Any person under the age of 18.

  • CSAM (Child Sexual Abuse Material): Any photograph, video, or other content that depicts sexual activity involving minors or is intended to sexualize minors.

  • Grooming: Actions or communications intended to befriend and establish an emotional connection with a minor for sexual purposes.

Prevention & Moderation Practices

  1. Automated Detection:

    • We use industry-standard automated tools and hash‑matching services to detect known CSAM and flag suspicious content for review.

  2. Human Review:

    • All reports and automated flags are reviewed by trained moderation staff who follow clear review playbooks and safety guidelines.

  3. Age Gates & Education:

    • We clearly state age requirements (18+) and provide guidance and safety tips for younger users and their guardians where applicable.

  4. Content Controls:

    • Users can report content, block users, and restrict messages from unknown accounts. These controls are easy to access from every content view.

  5. Minimum Age Enforcement:

    • We do not knowingly permit users under 18 to create accounts. Accounts found to belong to minors will be disabled and handled per our safety protocol.

Reporting Mechanisms

  • In-App Reporting: Users can report any post, profile, message, or user directly from the app via the ••• menu → Report. Reports are prioritized and processed promptly.

  • Email Contact: safety@fansalt.app (designated child safety contact)

  • Emergency Reporting: If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services before submitting a report to us.

When you file a report, please include:

  • The account name or profile link

  • A description of the issue and timestamp/location in the app

  • Screenshots or media IDs (if safe to provide)

Response & Takedown Process

  • Acknowledgement: We acknowledge receipt of valid reports within 24 hours.

  • Assessment: Moderators evaluate the report and take appropriate action, which may include content removal, account suspension, and referral to law enforcement.

  • Preservation of Evidence: Where content appears to be CSAM, we preserve metadata and evidence and will share it with law enforcement as required by law.

  • Notification: When allowed by law and our policies, we may notify the reporting user about the action taken.

Cooperation with Authorities

Fans Alt complies with applicable laws and will cooperate with regional and national law enforcement and child protection agencies. We will disclose user information when required by a valid legal process. Our designated contact for legal requests is the Legal & Safety team at legal@fansalt.app.

Record-Keeping & Privacy

  • We retain reports and related metadata for as long as necessary to investigate and comply with legal obligations.

  • Personal data requested in the course of an investigation is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

Employee Training

All employees who handle user reports or moderation receive regular training on CSAE identification, trauma-informed response, privacy, and legal requirements. Moderation teams follow documented escalation paths for serious incidents.

User Education & Resources

We provide in‑app safety tips and links to trusted child safety resources and hotlines. Examples include local child protection agencies and national helplines. (Links available in the app Help section.)

Sanctions & Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in:

  • Content removal

  • Temporary or permanent account suspension

  • Reporting to law enforcement

  • Legal action where appropriate

Appeals

Users affected by enforcement actions may appeal by contacting safety@fansalt.app with relevant information. Appeals are handled by a separate review team.
